Hello to you all
I hope that you are all well right now.
The Café Jam Band would like to invite you to their Easter Café Jam on Zoom on 28 March 6.30pm
It will be similar to the Christmas one when the songs on the YouTube links will be interspersed with Easter thoughts and prayers.
Please do forward this invitation to as many folk as you like and ask them to contact me for the Zoom link.
We pray that we will be back with you again physically from September and we have already had our first booking!
Do get back in touch with me if you wish to book us from the Autumn onwards – if not, then I will be contacting those churches who had booked us but who missed out in 2020.
Stay safe and well
All the best Rita

Our new sign the start of our 150 celebrations
Due to the latest lockdown information Highfield URC will be closed until further notice
Since our last guidance was issued (October 2020) it is clear that the new variant of the virus has caused a rapid and alarming increase in Coronavirus infections. In light of this, Synod Moderators strongly recommend that churches should cease to meet for in-person worship and move exclusively to online worship.
So with a sad heart the Elders of Highfield have decided to close for the whole of January and will review the situation in February. It's not an easy decision but we do have some beautiful vulnerable people we need to keep safe.
These are the links for zooming in for a Cafe jam and a Synod Staff Christmas Worship.
All the best
Rita
Please wear something Christmassy and have a candle/lighter ready for the 13th.

Stop the Traffik
We all have a moral duty as human beings to speak
out if we see someone being exploited or harmed
in any way.
Unfortunately, there are thousands of victims of
modern slavery living in the UK. They're hidden in
plain sight within our communities and need our
help.
With this in mind Highfield URC has decided to make this our UK based Lent Appeal Charity.
This presentation is designed to help you to: 1) understand what modern slavery is; 2) know how to spot the signs of modern slavery; 3) and how to report your concerns. We are not asking you to become experts or detectives, but we want you to be aware of the signs of modern slavery and know what to do if something doesn't feel right.
Mary's Meals
Highfield have chosen Mary's Meals as their international Lent Appeal charity. Their vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education, and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things. It costs just £15.90 to feed a child for a whole school year.
From humble beginnings feeding just 200 children at a school in Malawi, they now reach more than 1.6 million children across five continents every school day.
Their mission is to enable people to offer their money, goods, skills, time, or prayer, and through this involvement, provide the most effective help to those suffering the effects of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest communities. Find them online at www.marysmeals.org.uk or click the link below
